If you are ready to take on exciting challenges and be part of a company that is redefining the boundaries of satellite technology, we welcome you to embark on this thrilling journey with us!
Your Mission:
- Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and housings for spacecraft subsystems and internal equipment (e.g. electronic boxes, brackets, mounts).
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and production-ready drawings using CAD software (mainly Siemens NX).
- Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and repeatable production.
- Define and apply GD&T in accordance with applicable standards to ensure proper fit, function, and interchangeability.
- Prepare and maintain design documentation, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and design review material.
- Support hardware manufacturing, assembly, and integration activities, including troubleshooting and design iterations.
- Collaborate with electrical, systems, thermal, and AIT engineers to ensure mechanical designs meet subsystem and system-level requirements.
- Interface with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible, clear, and compliant with requirements.
- Consider space-relevant constraints such as launch loads, thermal environments, cleanliness, and mass optimization in your designs.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus) or an equivalent qualification.
- 1–3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace, space, or high-reliability industries.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drawing creation; Siemens NX experience is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of GD&T and its practical application in manufacturing and inspection
- Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, turning, sheet metal, and basic assembly techniques.
- Strong focus on design for manufacturing, assembly, and integration.
- Interest or initial experience in space hardware design (e.g. electronic enclosures, flight hardware constraints) is an advantage.
- Comfortable producing clear technical documentation and communicating in English, both written and spoken.
- A proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
What We Offer:
- Collaborate with a diverse multinational team crafting the next wave of cutting-edge satellites. Embark on this exciting journey with us from the outset, leaving your indelible mark on a dynamic company and playing a direct role in shaping the future of the space industry.
- Keep your energy levels high with company-sponsored memberships for Urban Sports Club. As well a discount in the public transport.
- We provide a hybrid work model along with flexible working hours, empowering you as the owner of your time management.
- Nestled in the heart of Friedrichshain, our Berlin office provides a lively and central hub easily accessible by transit. Immerse yourself in a neighborhood teeming with vibrant restaurants and year-round cultural events.
- Enjoy the flexibility of ample vacation time, including a special company holiday on April 12th dedicated to celebrating the International Day of Human Spaceflight.
We look forward to your application
