Job description
Hi there!
“Make the world a healthier place” is our mission at Data4Life. The IT Operations team plays a key role in enabling this vision by ensuring that our colleagues have access to reliable, secure, and efficient digital tools and workplace infrastructure. By continuously maintaining and improving our IT environment, we empower teams across the organization to work seamlessly and stay focused on driving impact in the healthcare sector in Germany and beyond.
To strengthen our IT Operations team, we are looking for a dedicated IT Operations Manager(f/m/x). This is a full-time, on-site position based in Berlin (5 days per week), with occasional travel to our Potsdam office as required.
Your future role
Act as the primary and sole point of contact for all internal IT topics, ensuring reliable, high-quality support for ~40 employees across Berlin and Potsdam
Take full ownership of end-user support, resolving complex hardware, software, and access-related issues while continuously improving support quality and user experience
Own and evolve IT hardware and asset management end-to-end, including planning, procurement, lifecycle management, and scalable onboarding setups
Serve as the go-to expert for Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence), driving best practices, optimizing workflows, and advising teams on efficient tool usage
Own and continuously improve identity and access management across Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, ensuring secure, scalable, and well-structured access controls
Take responsibility for the design and optimization of authentication and security standards, including SSO, MFA, and conditional access
Own endpoint management and security, leveraging tools such as Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender to ensure compliance and a strong security posture
Proactively drive process improvements, documentation, and automation, enabling scalability and reducing operational overhead
Ensure a high-functioning on-site IT environment in Berlin, proactively managing workplace setup, resolving issues, and maintaining operational readiness
Act as a trusted advisor to the business, identifying improvement opportunities and pragmatically shaping the IT landscape
What you need to succeed
4+ years of experience in IT support, IT operations, or a similar role, with a proven track record of independently owning and managing IT environments
Strong, hands-on expertise across hardware, peripherals, and operating systems (macOS and Windows), with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues end-to-end
Solid experience administering Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365, including user lifecycle management, permissions, and security configurations
Good understanding of core IT infrastructure concepts such as VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and the ability to apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios
A highly proactive, solution-oriented mindset, with strong prioritization skills and a clear sense of ownership
Act as the sole on-site IT owner in Berlin, taking full responsibility for all technical topics and ensuring reliable support for the entire office
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into clear, pragmatic guidance for non-technical stakeholders
Fluent in English and solid German skills (at least B2 level)
