As a Delivery / Commissioning Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality assurance, commissioning, and successful integration of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) on-site. This position involves direct involvement in commissioning activities, real-time reporting, and supporting system integration for complex industrial controls systems. You will be responsible for overseeing the field commissioning, validating system performance, and troubleshooting in collaboration with site contractors and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance of BMS Activities: Ensure all on-site BMS (Building Management System) installation and commissioning activities meet the required quality standards, with a focus on validating control system performance.
BMS System Integration Support: Provide technical support to the BMS system integrators to facilitate smooth system integration and functionality.
EPMS & BMS Panel Commissioning: Lead the commissioning of EPMS and BMS panels, ensuring all components are correctly installed and functioning according to design specifications.
Real-Time Status Reporting: Provide ongoing, real-time status updates on commissioning progress, issues, and milestones.
Level 3 & 4 Commissioning: Conduct detailed commissioning activities for BMS/EPMS SCADA systems, including:
- Point-to-point checks and validation of devices.
- Addressing devices on the Ignition Gateway.
- Supporting IP addressing for field equipment.
Point-to-Point Verifications & Testing: Perform comprehensive point-to-point verifications, calibration, and testing of sensors and devices, ensuring accurate system integration. This includes both electrical and control point-to-point checks.
Low Voltage Contractor Verification: Oversee and verify the activities of low voltage contractors to ensure that their work complies with project specifications and standards.
On-Site Industrial Controls Commissioning: Take charge of on-site commissioning activities for industrial control systems, including:
- IP addressing for field devices.
- IO points check from BMS cabinets to field devices.
- Device connectivity checks.
Controller Programming & Troubleshooting: Assist with the loading and basic troubleshooting of controller programs, working closely with VDC Automation technical support as needed.
Point-to-Graphic Activities: Execute point-to-graphic activities using the Ignition SCADA system, utilizing a VDC-issued laptop to ensure proper control system visualization.
Desired Skills & Prerequisites:
- Proven experience with industrial controls, especially in BMS and EPMS systems.
- Familiarity with Rockwell PLCs and Ignition SCADA.
- Strong understanding of controls systems, commissioning processes, and IP networking.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Strong communication skills for real-time reporting and coordination with technical teams.
- Proven knowledge of electrical schematics and ability to use Electrical AutoCAD, EPLAN etc.
