Job description
The Team Lead HR Business Partnering strengthens the leadership and effectiveness of HR Business Partnering in Germany by combining people leadership with hands-on HR Business Partner expertise.
The role ensures clear prioritisation, consistent advisory quality and sustainable HR delivery in a complex, transformation-driven environment, while continuing to provide focused HR Business Partner support to the business.
Working in close partnership with other Local HR functions, in particular HR Operations and Labour Law / Employee Relations, as well as Corporate HR, the role actively promotes collaboration, transparency and mutual enablement across all HR pillars.
This role is designed as a combined leadership and HR Business Partner position with an approximate 50/50 split between team leadership and HR Business Partnering.
1) Leadership & management of the HR Business Partner team
You have disciplinary and functional responsibility for the HR Business Partner team in Germany and ensure a consistent, high‑quality and business‑oriented HR Business Partnering approach across the organisation.
- Leading, coaching and developing the HR Business Partners, while fostering a trust‑based, collaborative “One Team” culture
- Setting clear priorities, actively steering workload and capacity, and ensuring focus on the most business‑critical and risk‑relevant topics
- Ensuring consistent advisory quality, governance, compliance and professional standards across HR Business Partnering
- Supporting and enabling the HRBP team in complex transformation, change and organisational situations
- Strengthening cooperation between HR Business Partnering, HR Operations and Labour Law / Employee Relations to deliver coherent, pragmatic and compliant solutions
- Contributing to a strong, trust‑based and solution‑oriented HR community with a shared focus on business impact and employee experience
2) HR Business Partnering
In parallel, you act as an HR Business Partner for a defined business scope in Germany, providing both strategic and operational HR support.
- Advising leaders across the full HR agenda, including leadership and talent development, succession planning, retention, compensation & benefits and organisational topics
- Translating business priorities into effective people and organisational solutions
- Advising on employee relations matters, policies, procedures and investigations, ensuring compliance with German labour law and internal regulations
- Maintaining a strong and constructive relationship with the works council and advising leaders on co‑determination topics
- Supporting and implementing global HR policies, standards and initiatives at local level
- Supporting workforce planning and staffing decisions and using HR data and people analytics for evidence‑based recommendations
- Actively contributing to change and transformation initiatives
