We’re working with a late-stage, VC-backed technology company that is scaling rapidly across multiple markets. They are strengthening their legal function and are looking for a Legal Counsel to support commercial matters, data protection, and broader operational strategy across the business.
Tasks

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (including customer, supplier, SaaS, and partnership contracts).

Leading on data protection and privacy matters, including advising on GDPR and other applicable frameworks.

Supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of privacy policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Working closely with product and engineering teams on data-related issues, including product launches, data use, and risk assessments.

Advising on data processing arrangements, including DPAs, international data transfers, and vendor onboarding.

Contributing to the design and optimisation of scalable legal and operational processes as the company grows.

Collaborating cross-functionally with teams such as commercial, product, security, and operations.
Requirements

Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist:in).

Relevant post-qualification experience, gained in private practice and/or in-house, with exposure to commercial contracts and data protection.

Strong experience drafting and negotiating a range of commercial agreements (e.g. SaaS, customer, supplier, and partnership contracts).

Good working knowledge of data protection and privacy frameworks (in particular GDPR), with the ability to advise on practical implementation.

Experience supporting or advising on data-related matters such as DPAs, international data transfers, and internal policies/processes.

Commercially minded, with a pragmatic approach to balancing legal risk and business objectives.

Able to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
