About the Project

The North Luangwa Conservation Programme (NLCP) is a partnership programme with the Zambian Government through the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW). NLCP’s mission of linking livelihoods and landscape is central to its workforce and partners working within the North Luangwa Landscape to ensure its security and sustainability.With support from the Light Foundation, NLCP seeks to improve the livelihoods of marginalised resident custodians from Chikwa, Chifunda and Nabwalya Chiefdoms through the provision of Vocational Training Scholarships aimed at enhancing educational outcomes in the landscape.

About the Position

ObjectiveThe main objective of this scholarship is to improve the well-being of the local communities through Vocational skills development / training.
Specific Area for Support The scholarship will support the following short courses: 
  • Hotel Management (Hospitality), Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Plumbing, Entrepreneurship / Business Management, Brick Laying, Carpentry and Joinery, Heavy Duty Operations, First Aid, ICT, Coded Welding, Automative Mechanics / Electrical, Metal Fabrication, Driving, Tour Guide, etc  

Your Profile

EligibilityEligible applicants must meet the following criteria: 
  • Zambian citizen with Green National Registration Card
  • Bonafide Resident of Nabwalya or Chikwa or Chifunda Chiefdoms
  • School leavers / volunteers with full grade 12 school certificate
  • 35 years old or below
  • Candidate willing to serve in the landscape 
  • Full grade 12 certificate with 5 o level credits or better in English and Mathematics
