The opportunity
As a Contracts Administration Senior Professional at Hitachi Energy Germany AG, you will play a crucial role in managing the full lifecycle of contracts, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting successful project execution. You will be a key contributor to our legal and commercial operations, working with diverse stakeholders.

How you'll make an impact

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from proposal and negotiation support to execution, administration, and close-out, for various types of agreements (e.g., supply, service, framework, consortium)
  • Ensure all contractual activities adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry best practices. Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, proposing effective solutions
  • Provide expert support during contract negotiations, including drafting, reviewing, and analyzing terms and conditions to protect the company's interests
  • Act as a primary point of contact for contractual matters, collaborating closely with project managers, sales, legal, finance, and other internal departments, as well as external clients and suppliers
  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate and comprehensive contract documentation, including amendments, variations, and correspondence
  • Support the resolution of contractual disputes and claims, including analyzing root causes, preparing arguments, and facilitating negotiations
  • Identify and implement improvements to contract administration processes and tools to enhance efficiency, transparency, and compliance
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on contractual matters, best practices, and company policies


Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPCM) is a plus
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in contracts administration, contract management, or a related commercial/legal role, preferably within the energy, industrial, or technology sectors
  • Strong understanding of contract law principles, commercial terms and conditions, and risk management strategies. Experience with international contracts is highly advantageous
  • Proven ability to support and participate in complex contract negotiations effectively
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail in reviewing legal and commercial documents
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both German and English. Ability to articulate complex contractual issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with contract management software (e.g., Salesforce, SAP Ariba, or similar CLM systems)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong commitment to ethical conduct and compliance
