Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the Senior Production Planner role is to manage master production schedule to ensure the efficient delivery of inventory, service and cost objectives.
It is a 6-month temporary role.
Key Role and Responsibilities
- To manage and coach the supply planning team in Valls with a purpose of delivering optimized production.
- Production schedules need to be maintained daily for all products. These are based on the available Sales Orders & Forecasts, considering the available production capacity and raw materials. Also making sure that the 2 weeks out rolling plan is being updated and coordinated with production, quality, and procurement on site.
- Assess current inventory levels and forecasts to make appropriate decisions that minimize costs and achieve corporate working capital and service level objectives. The inventory of finished products needs to be monitored closely as the scheduling and procurement team is responsible for the obsolete inventories. So, making sure the slow-moving stock is minimal is part of the job.
- Play a key role in GPE supporting initiatives (Griffith Performance Excellence) and KPI (Key Performance Indicators) targets set in the Supply Chain. Take the end responsibility for any other projects outlined.
- Liaise with sales, operations, purchasing and R&D departments to optimize production within capacity restraints.
- Act as key contact person for any escalations on site related to production schedule. And liaise back to the Operations Manager and/or Supply Chain Lead on these escalations to look for corrective actions. Responsible for coaching direct reports.
Knowledge and Education
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or Economics.
- APICS certification is an asset
- Experience in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Business, by preference being exposed to perishable products before.
- 3-5 years of experience in a planning or procurement role is a minimum requirement.
- Fluency in English is a must (C1).
