Job Description SummaryWithin the Avio Aero’s Supply Chain team and directly reporting to the Sub Commodity Leader, you will play support the development and introduction of new products within MRO (Maintenance Repair & Overhaul) Business. This position is reporting to the Sub Commodity Leader and is responsible for sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and components required for new product development. The NPI Buyer will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to align procurement strategies with program goals, ensuring compliance with GE Aerospace’s SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) priorities.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Understand the Service MRO Commodity needs based on the Service Strategy and define SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) matrix in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing team

  • Source and procure materials, components, and services required for new product development.

  • Ensure that orders are processed and delivered on time and address any issues or delays that may arise.  

  • Adhere to company policies, regulations, and legal requirements related to procurement. 

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information. 

  • Ensure alignment with engineering specifications, quality standards, and program timelines.

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers capable of meeting NPI requirements.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure collaboration and performance.

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and delivery standards.

  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and program management teams to understand NPI requirements and timelines.

  • Work in collaboration with Supplier Quality Teams and Procurement team to meet established goal of OTD, span, delinquency and vendor recovery

  • Provide procurement expertise to support design changes, prototype builds, and production ramp-up.

  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including lead time constraints, capacity issues, and quality concerns.

  • Develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted supply for NPI programs.

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with GE Aerospace policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Track and report key performance metrics related to material health, supplier performance, cost savings, and delivery timelines.

  • Support lean initiatives and process improvements within the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Collaborate on initiatives aligned with GE Aerospace’s FLIGHT DECK lean operating model.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or Economic field from an accredited university or college

  • Ability to handle several activities simultaneously, manage multiple priorities and resolve appropriately

  • Professional working knowledge of SAP

  • Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Proactivity, Customer orientation, initiative, autonomy

  • Fluent in Italian and English both written and spoken

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
