Job description
Our people are our most important asset, and safety is always our top priority. Our NINA program (No Injuries, No Accidents) forms the foundation of how we work and the expectations we set for each other.
As a SHE-Q Engineer within Seabed Intervention, you play a central role in strengthening our safety culture, improving safety performance, and continuously enhancing our work processes. You support projects worldwide, working closely with office teams as well as the crews on our specialized SRI vessels. You are part of the SBI organization and report to the SHE-Q Manager, Seabed Intervention.
You will work primarily from Papendrecht, complemented by regular visits to our vessels and quarries for project support, training, and SHE-Q audits.
Your responsibilities as a SHEQ Engineer
- Act as the first point of contact for SHE-Q within SRI projects, supporting management, project teams, and vessel crews.
- Maintain a close working relationship with SRI vessels and visit them regularly—for example, during project preparation, kick‑off meetings, or project visits.
- Coach colleagues and provide on‑the‑job training on SHE-Q processes, NINA values, and risk awareness.
- Provide SHE-Q expertise by:
- contributing to Risk Assessments and Job Hazard Analyses
- preparing (project) documentation
- advising on mitigations and improvement measures
- Initiate and coordinate audits, training sessions, assessments, and toolbox meetings to strengthen knowledge and safety culture.
- Bring a clear vision on SHE-Q policy and actively contribute to its further development and implementation within SRI.
- Serve as a motivated and credible ambassador for our NINA program.
Your qualities
- Completed higher professional education (HBO level).
- SHE-Q qualification at bachelor level (e.g., NEBOSH, Quality Management, Auditing).
- Knowledge of NINA and experience with SHE-Q policies, systems, and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably within an international, project-driven organization.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex topics clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical abilities, with a keen eye for risks and practical improvement opportunities.
- Authorized to work within the EU.
